Set of Four Exceptional Early 19th Century Enamel Buttons

$425.00

From the UK Collection, here we have set of 4 buttons that were presented in this sweet little box. I don’t believe it’s the original box, but they sure do look lovely together. The holes are too big in my opinion but they do stay in place when moved if the box is closed. It is my hope to keep them together. They would look so lovely mounted and set in a little frame.

Early 19th Century Emaux Peints Enamel on Copper with 2 different degrees/shades of gold papillons that alternate around the border. They are each counter enameled in cobalt blue. The rosebuds are 2 different shades of pink and they are bordered by green dots representing leaves.

The front of each button is in beyond exceptional condition and there is a bit of wear to the counter enamel on both of the smalls. One is visible and the other is barely visible but worth a mention. The rest is just camera glare. These are so very special. You just don’t often see such fine quality enamels in such wonderful condition. Perhaps that little box has been preserving them for nearly 2 centuries.

Two NBS Mediums at 1-3/16”, just shy of a large and Two NBS Smalls at 5/8”
Price is for the set of four.
