19thC Croquet Clambroth Glass Button w British Registration Backmark
A backmark on Division 1 (pre-1918) glass is not at ALL common. This one has a British Design Registry mark. The shape is exactly the correct shape of the mark, just cannot make out the numbers/letters. The front has a croquet set design.
NBS Medium 1-1/16”
Shank is a bit wonky as are many on old buttons like this, but solid.
This button is pictured with a full description of Registry marks on page 58 of the newest NBS Clear and Colored Glass Book by Howells and Chrowl. (highly recommended)
I had another smaller version with black that sold for 33.00 on ebay recently.
