Early to mid 19th Century Gilt Sporting button with a game bird. This button is similar to 19 & 20 on Plate 289 in the Big Book. B & B is probably a mark for Benedict and Burnham, a Waterbury CT button maker from the 1830s to 1849. The outlines of the bird and the scroll work are raised in low relief against a background of horizontal lines and ‘feathers’ for the bird.
Size: NBS Medium 1”
Condition: Very Good, just a bit of a darkened spot at 6:00
