VERY uncommon Blue John stone waistcoat button. The only known deposit of this rare natural gemstone occurs in a hillside to the west of Castleton, Hope Valley, Derbyshire, England. Blue John has only ever been found within the hillside that is known as Blue John Cavern and Treak Cliff Cavern.
While uncommon, you can find Victorian Era Blue John jewelry, vases, or other objects, but to find a blue john button is extremely scarce.
