Cobalt Blue Glass Paperweight Button w Red Flower by Thura Erickson
Gorgeous Cobalt Blue Glass Paperweight Button with Pretty Red Flower by Thura Erickson. The Flower is beautifully built up and the sprinkle of goldstone adds extra sparkle.
Size: NBS Small 9/16”
Condition: Excellent
Erickson was a friend and protege of Charles Kaziun who is considered to be one the finest paperweight makers of the 20th Century. I strongly feel, as do others that Erickson's weights are as good, especially those that he made at the height of his artistry. He was making the beautifully formed floating flowers by 1943 and he passed away in 1963.
This button has the typical squared off wire shank which reacts to a magnet and often is the only way to tell the difference between a Kaziun and an Erickson.
